Changing What We Do....
NAAEEs new book can change how you teach EE
and work with others!
Are you thinking about--
Youll find some provocative answers in this book. It describes a just-completed NSF-funded project called the VINE Follow-Through Project. Teams of formal and nonformal educators in school districts in Seattle, Louisville, and Broward County, FL, integrated out-of-the-classroom learning experiences into the ongoing science curriculum. The project resulted, as the participants said and external evaluator agreed, in changing what we do in the classroom and with colleagues. Learn how they did it!
Although used in connection with NAAEEs ongoing Volunteer-led Investigations in Neighborhood Ecology (VINE) Program, the approach and materials used in this project can be adapted to tackle many other educational challenges.
Change takes time and support. This is a great example of an effective way to bring about change. Harold Pratt, Center for Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Education, National Research Council. Other reviewers agreed.
